Ottawa's Home of the Blues
Hard to believe, but Ottawa's institution of the blues is
now a young adult, almost ready to move outta the parents basement.
An incredibly festive event—Danny, Whammer, Terry, Donnie, Kurt,
Stephanie and
Co. opened
their doors
and
the bar
to a hungry
and happy crowd.
Tony D organized
the ALL STAR jam, made up of local legends like Tony D himself,
Joe Hawkins, Rob Pappas, Dean Dupuis,
Guy del Villano, Steve Lund, Don Evans, Sean Burke, Southside
Steve, Scotty Doubt, Billy Mitchell, Billy Brendan, Roxanne Potvin,
Matt
Wood, Scott Aimme, Mike Ktenas, Matt & Marty Sobb.
Tony starts of the night with his trusty 335, Joe and Rob hit
the stage with a wall o' Gibsons. Southside leads the pack,
the crowd is luvin' it. Whammer and Danny hard at work. Roxanne
did not get drunk!! Mark makes it back alive from Thailand
with a few stories to tell, Billy Mitchell—the man who
opened the Rainbow, Lundo and Tony talk shop and Pappas entertains
backstage.
Tony D hit a high note with a special tribute to Ottawa
blues greats Larry "the Bird" Mootham and Kevin "Kit" Kenny,
who, I'm
sure,
were having an
All Star Jam of their
own up in the sky. Here's to everyone who, along
the way, has made the past 20 years possible, keeping the
Ottawa scene alive and well.
